5 Conversion Rate Optimization Basics Most Websites Get Wrong

Nov 14, 20256 min readBy Amit Yadav

One page, one goal

Pages that ask visitors to call, fill out a form, download a guide, and follow social media all at once dilute focus. Every page should have one clear, primary action.

Reduce form friction

Every additional form field reduces completion rate. Ask only for what you truly need to qualify and follow up with the lead.

Make the next step obvious

Calls to action should be visually distinct, repeated at logical points on the page, and written in specific, benefit-driven language rather than generic phrases like 'submit'.

Load fast on mobile

A large share of local service traffic is mobile. Slow load times on mobile devices are one of the most common, and most fixable, sources of lost conversions.

Build trust above the fold

Reviews, certifications, and clear proof of experience placed near the top of the page reduce hesitation before a visitor even reaches your offer.
